As a Production & Process Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the technical production process and developing and integrating new technical activities. The ideal candidate must demonstrate excellent technical/ engineering skills, lean manufacturing principles, and an excellent knowledge of plant support systems. The position reports directly to the Director of Operations and will work hand in hand with our Process Engineers, our international Research & Development Team, as well as our Production Team in Plattsburgh, NY.

Pay Range   $80,000+ annually depending on experience


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain, develop, and improve the foam extrusion manufacturing process
  • Take responsibility for plant efficiency and safety improvement projects from project planning to realization
  • Formulate maintenance protocols and direct maintenance duties in collaboration with the Maintenance Manager
  • Assist production team hands-on with process adjustments and machinery troubleshooting
  • Establish technical and digital monitoring for foam extrusion machinery
  • Develop process reactions and improvements based on data
  • Design machinery parts and tools with CAD applications and compile new production line budgets
  • Competent in designing and executing electrical wiring and programming (PLC)
  • Independently develop key process metrics, recipes and goals; develop action plans for desired results
  • Work with company resources to drive production trials and tests for new product developments
  • Availability to respond to emergency calls and do hands-on troubleshooting in a 24/7 operation

Your Skillset

  • Strong knowledge of machines and technical processes in a manufacturing setting
  • Track record of sophisticated process engineering projects
  • Academic background in process engineering, industrial engineering, or electrical engineering
  • Skilled in CAD software, technical writing, and Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Office365, Excel)
  • Fulfill physical requirements including walking, standing, stooping and climbing
  • Ability to lift up to 60lbs
  • Availability to react on emergency calls outside normal work hours to support hands-on with troubleshooting
  • Maximum of 40min driving distance to the plant is preferred    
  • Committed to quality, safety, and communication

Preferred Qualifications

  • Academic background in process, industrial, or electrical engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years engineering experience
  • Plastics manufacturing experience a plus
